Hi, I’m Dan,
A multifaceted musician, performing artist, record label manager, and dedicated music instructor. I’m passionate about sharing the art of music, whether it’s from the stage or during a one-on-one lesson.
For the past eight years, I’ve been teaching guitar, piano, and music production full-time. With (almost) 10,000 lessons under my belt, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of all ages and skill levels. Along the way, I’ve fine-tuned a teaching approach that’s as flexible as it is effective, ensuring each lesson aligns with my students’ goals—whether it’s mastering a chord progression or conquering the mysteries of music production.
My lessons are designed to be both productive and fun (because who says learning music can’t come with a few laughs?). And if you’re serious about taking your music to the next level, we’ll explore composing and producing original tracks, mixing and mastering audio for release, and even building industry connections to help you turn your passion into profit.
My own music journey began in 2004...
...when, as a wide-eyed nine-year-old, I picked up the guitar and promptly decided, Yep, this is my life now. By high school, I was winning talent shows, DJing school dances, birthday parties, and—let’s be honest—more than a few unsanctioned house parties.
After high school, I dove deeper into music, studying Music Technology at the EMENDY Multimedia Institute, where I specialised in film scoring and sound synthesis. In 2018, I took the plunge to become a full-time musician and performing artist. By day, I teach; by night, I strategise my next big move. This journey has led me to perform at some of Johannesburg’s most reputable events and collaborate with artists I grew up idolising—a dream come true.
If you’re ready to embark on your own music adventure, I’d be thrilled to guide you. Let’s make music that moves you (and maybe a few audiences too).
